Choosing the creative life isn’t easy. You don’t have to do it alone.
Therapy for Musicians and Creative Souls in Minnesota
Therapy for when life gets out of tune
Making music — or any creative work — asks so much of us: vulnerability, discipline, heart. And sometimes the very qualities which make us good at what we do also leave us feeling anxious, blocked, and disconnected. Therapy can help you find your way back to balance, purpose, and joy in your art and in yourself.
As both a musician and a psychotherapist, I understand this journey at a deeply personal level. And I know that sometimes we need help along the way. I am here to provide a safe space to explore yourself and your needs—where all parts are welcome.
Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m Kristin. I help creative people find healing, growth, and transformation in order to live their highest potential, both on and off the stage.
As artists, we passionately pour our full selves into what we create. What we don't always do is show up for ourselves in the same way. Therapy is a place for you—all of you—to be seen, heard, and heal in a compassionate, nonjudgemental space.
Whether you’re struggling with artistic trauma, performance anxiety, creative burnout, or the stress of trying to balance your artistic identity with everyday life, therapy can help you find what you are looking for.
HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER
-
I’m licensed to provide psychotherapy in Minnesota and currently offer secure online sessions for adults throughout the state.
If you’re looking for a therapist who understands both the emotional world of music and the realities of everyday life, you’re in the right place.
-
Developed by Dr. Helen Bonny in conjunction with Drs. Stanislav Grof and Walter Pahnke as part of the psychedelic research unit in the 1970’s. A depth-oriented, music-based method of exploring the unconscious and finding deep transformation and healing.
-
I moved to Kraków, Poland with my family in 2019. I see clients here in person, and over Telehealth if you live in Minnesota. Please feel free to ask me about this.
My Approach
My approach is person-centered and based on the belief that you are the expert on you—not me or anyone else. I hold a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed space where all of you is welcome to show up, be seen, and heal.
I also believe that there are no bad parts. Even the parts of us we most despise have good intentions, despite their misguided, and sometimes damaging, attempts to help.
My purpose is to facilitate a safe space where all parts are free to come as they are, and help those parts heal so you can live your most fulfilling life.
For Musicians and Creative Professionals
As a performing musician (viola da gamba) and expat, I understand the unique pressures of creative work — the perfectionism, the vulnerability of performance, and the relentless striving to “get it right.”
In our sessions, we can explore:
Stage fright and performance anxiety
Creative blocks and loss of motivation
Identity and self-worth as an artist
Relationships with your instrument, colleagues, or teachers
Stress, burnout, and life transitions
I also offer music psychotherapy via the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music, a powerful experiential approach that uses music and imagery to access deep emotional insights and promote healing.
How can I support you?
Let’s Begin
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. I offer a free consultation so we can talk about what’s bringing you here and how we might work together.
Whether you need help during an artistic crisis, support before a big audition, coaching for stage fright, or want to do the deeper work of unpacking childhood trauma, this space is for you.
Please feel free to reach out and let me know what you are looking for. Together, we’ll explore your goals and whether I am a good fit for you.
